New Stuff!

So, I've been quite busy, my husband was away all last week so it was just me running the house. I have though, finally, taken time to photograph new stock and start listing it my shop! I'm so excited about these new items, and the onesI have planned for the future! Here are a couple items I've recently listed (and one is the hat and scarf set I had been trying to finish for weeks!)

As for what's coming, I have new supplies and tags ready to be photographed, and I will hopefully be making more this week with some new designs and ideas. I have been surfing crafting and stamping forums, and they have given me SO many great ideas! I also have a new purse style in the works, so watch for that. Finally, I'm hoping to start doing OOAK cards and small card sets, envelopes, and other small paper items.

So, in brainstorming, I'm not really sure what most people want: holidays, birthdays, gender neutral, all occasion? I would love to hear what kind of tags and cards you most often shop for, or would be interested in purchasing. Let me know!

Recycling

I absolutely hate where I live right now - the recycling program is CRAP! Back home, we could recycle nearly everything, and my family of four plus animals would have maybe a couple bags of garbage each week, and boxes and boxes of recycling. Here, there is NO recycling pickup, you have to transport it to a sorting station yourself, AND they don't recycle glass (and there is no alcohol bottle return program!) We don't have a car - so how, exactly, are we supposed to take our recycling away? So we are forced to throw away perfectly good, recyclable stuff, because we just can't keep it in our house for weeks on end.

So, in an effort to do a little to make up for it, I have started trying to make stuff out of old recyclables, to save them from the trash. My first venture is gift tags, made from old greeting cards. I have a few sets listed in my shop currently, and I will be adding more. I think they are adorable, much nicer than store bought ones.

I hope to try my hand at paper beads from old magazines and other paper, and reuse jars for candles - as time permits, of course!

And, there is good news on the scarf front - I am NEARLY done the body! All that will be left is the pockets, and sewing it all together. Watch for photos, soon! Tomorrow I must take photos for my shop, I need to get listing items again, otherwise sales won't happen.

Perpetually Unfinished

I don't know about you, but I seem to be a terrible person for not finishing what I start. Whether it's the piles of laundry, cleaning the house, or my craft projects, I seem to be perpetually surrounded by things undone. Right now, my crochet basket has a curtain destined for my daughter's room (until my DH bought one), a blanket meant for the couch in our living room, and a hat and scarf I meant to send to a friend back home. Oops.

And, of course, I'm trying to get things going on Etsy once again. I started a lovely hat and scarf set, but for the life of me can't get the dang scarf done. The hat is ready and waiting to be listed, but the scarf, it is haunting me. Hopefully, very soon, it will be done, and I can add it to my shop.

For now though, here's the hat:

And, on a semi-non-craft-related note, I finally found a puppy to add to our family! She'll be coming home the third week of August, so I must work my butt off to save the money for her. She's a Schnoodle (schnauzer-poodle), who is supposed to stay very small (max 15 pounds.)

Here's a picture of her litter, mine is the brown and black in the back:

I plan on purchasing items for her from Etsy, as well as making some of my own. Hense the semi above.

Hello!

Hello! I'm the CraftCrazyLady, and this is my blog. Why am I CraftCrazy, you ask? Or rather, what makes me CraftCrazy? I'm sure one look at my living room would be enoug to convince most people *lol* I love crafts and art. Pretty much, if it involves making something from nothing (or almost nothing) then I've probably done it, do it, or will be doing it at some point. Right now, my main focuses are crochet, cross stitch, and making gift tags - but I am planning on trying many, many more in the future.

I'm also starting an online store to sell some of my wares - CraftCrazyLady. I don't intend to become a high-volume seller, as I feel that would detract from the quality and variety of my products, but I would like to supplement my (very hardworking) husband's salary, so that maybe I can buy myself some pretty things without affecting our family's finances *lol*

When I'm not crafting, I am a mom to two girls, and am expecting #3 in the late fall (gender unknown.) I am also mom to a furry clan, composed of one lab/husky mix dog, two cats, and two gerbils. I am hoping to add a second dog sometime in the nearish future as well. Can you tell I like to be busy?

Anyway, this is just my introduction. Watch for more crafty-related goodness later.
